Foam Mattress Core
Libacce foam mattress cores are made from grey polyurethane foam in a range of densities. Density determines firmness and durability, so the foam can be specified for hospital beds, care beds or furniture seating and cut to the exact dimensions required.

Choosing a density
Density is the weight of one cubic metre of foam, and it is the main figure that sets how firm a core feels and how long it keeps its shape. We produce grey PU foam from 14 to 36 kg/m³: the lower densities are lighter and softer, the higher ones are specified where a mattress or cushion is in constant use, such as hospital and care beds.
Cores are cut to the dimensions you send, with CNC cutting for shaped or repeat parts. A core can be supplied on its own for your own production, or together with a washable PU cover sewn in the same facility to the exact foam it will go on.

Which density should I use for a hospital mattress?
Beds in constant use need the higher end of the range. Tell us the bed type, the mattress thickness and how the bed is used, and we will recommend a density.
Can the foam be cut to a specific shape?
Yes. Foam is cut to the dimensions you send, and CNC cutting is available for shaped parts and repeat orders.
Can you supply the foam with a cover?
Yes. We sew a washable, waterproof PU cover to the size of the core, so foam and cover arrive as one finished mattress.
