How a reusable underpad is built
A washable underpad is a layered construction. A soft top fabric sits against the skin, absorbent inner layers hold the liquid, a waterproof but breathable backing stops it reaching the mattress, and a non-slip base keeps the pad in place when the patient moves. We make 4- and 5-layer versions with a choice of absorbency levels.
Because they are washed and reused, underpads reduce the number of single-use pads a care home buys and throws away. Tell us the pad size, the absorbency you need and how often the pads will be washed, and we will propose the construction.
